Forecast for 2007 (from Pat Robertson’s December, 2006 Prayer Retreat)

For the past decades, I have enjoyed the opportunity to spend several days between Christmas and New Year’s Day in a special time of prayer and Bible study. During these periods, I have earnestly asked the Lord for any insight or direction He wishes to give me for the year ahead. At some times, His word to me has been remarkably precise and the subsequent fulfillment amazing. At other times, either my spiritual perception was lacking or else subsequent prayer or actions by others caused a different result than what I anticipated. Therefore, I must speak with great humility recognizing that I “see through a glass darkly.”

What follows reflects the fact that in 1995 CBN, at the Lord’s leading, began what we call WorldReach to win 500 million people around the world to faith. In 2006, the number of those responding to spiritual invitations on one of our many programs worldwide totaled an amazing 44,000,000. As 2007 began, we were approaching the goal that had been established twelve years before when the Lord showed me that the world was entering the greatest period of evangelism in history. Having said that, I offer a portion of what I feel is the Lord’s word to me during my 2006 end of the year prayer retreat for 2007.

“The world in 2007 will be chaotic. The struggle for Jerusalem will intensify. This is the signal for the collapse of the Gentile powers…

“The world will never receive me (God in Christ), but hundreds of millions will. 2007 will be the final year for my great revelation of my love and forgiveness. Expect miracles beyond anything that you dreamed possible. Demons will be cast out. There will be miracles of healing greater than the world has ever known. Vast multitudes will find salvation. It will be so glorious that you will feel that heaven has come down to earth.

“Then I will allow evil men to bring about cruel destruction. Suffering will be intense and millions will die. Your land will be shaken to its foundations as terror is unleashed upon you.

“Then I will intervene to cast down the evildoers.

“Seek righteousness—seek humility that you may be spared the terror.”

Then I turned in my Bible to II Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If my people which are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land.”

(I earnestly pray that we, as a nation, will seek the Lord in repentance so that we may be spared the evil designs of the terrorists.)

Saturday, December 30, 2006 – I believe the Lord spoke these further words to me…

“American politics is marked by indecision and strife. The Iraq war was folly, and there is no way out. America pretends to support Israel but in reality is pushing Israel toward suicide. This, in turn, is bringing my wrath on America.

“(George) Bush is a good man, and I have blessed him. But his arrogance has led to repeated foreign policy failures that have weakened the nation.

“(Ehud) Olmert is toxic for Israel. He will continue to blunder toward disaster.

“Because of the chaos that ensues throughout the world, traditional politics will no longer seem relevant.

“I will answer your prayers for China. When my spirit moves across that land, even your goal of 250 million (people accepting Christ) will be too small. Continue to pray. The spiritual breakthrough for China is near.”

Then a word from Isaiah 46:9-11…

“I am God and there is no other
I am God and there is none like me

I make known the end from the beginning
From ancient times what is still to come,

I said ‘my purpose will stand
And I will do all I please…,’

What I have said, that will I bring about;
What I have planned that will I do.”

“My anointing will rest upon my people this year.

“There will be miracles.

“The world will know peace—then CHAOS!

“Fright and terror—many deaths.

“For now…repent and pray.”

Then further word from the Prophet Isaiah:

“The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted the instructions of God, violated His laws, and broken His everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth and its people…..

“Their city writhes in chaos; every home is locked to keep out looters. Mobs gather in the streets. Joy has reached its lowest ebb. The city is left in ruins. Throughout the earth, the story is the same…

“But all who are left will shout and sing for joy. Those in the west will praise the Lord’s majesty. In Eastern lands give glory to the Lord. In the coastland of the sea, praise the name of the Lord, the god of Israel. Listen to them as they sing to the Lord from the ends of the earth.” Isaiah 24

In conclusion: Ahead is a year in which we celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. This year will begin with unimagined blessings yet will end, unless there is national repentance and prayer, with unspeakable acts of terror brought about by evil men. Then a great time of worldwide rejoicing in the Lord.
